Haven't been on lately. No net, no smartphone. But back in the saddle after 9yrs either wrenching or farming/ranching.
Feel pretty fortunate to land a gig with a small company of like 50 trucks. Cpm is not great but been running pretty consistent 3500 or more. My previous experience was more Cpm less miles and I'd rather be driving then sitting.
The truck? Can't complain. 2014 T660 with 13spd and 132k on the ticker when I got it. Pretty nicely spec interior including a fridge. Shuts down at 70mph. Could be geared different but is livable.
All in all pretty happy to be rolling the black ribbon again.. Bunch has changed but all is good until I lose paper logs then I will find something else to do.

Welcome back.
I had a 15 yr absence,.. I understand the shock of how different and restricted it feels now compared to only 15 yrs ago. DOT arent cutting much slack either. you really need to have your act together and be up to date on whats legal and whats not. They are sticking it to us for just about anything.
I do flatbed and last year I got nailed in Oregon for a small 2 - 3mm nick in one of my straps. To me personally it was fine,.. I had 2 straps over a crate that weighed maybe 1500lbs. I run a step deck and it was on my lower deck up against the head wall. I was told to replace it on the spot of be put OOS until it was. Then written up for an equipment violation. Fortunately I keep a case of straps with me so it wasnt a problem. He was right regarding the rules. I was technically wrong for choosing to use the strap. 15 yrs ago it would not have been given a second glance. They were more worried about tires, brakes, air leaks and tail lights back then.
Now days they will randomly check your log book while on a scale, dip your tank to check your fuel, knock on your door while sleeping at rest stops, you really have to stay on top of things to glide under the radar.
Good luck out there and stay safe.

Have not had a brush with DOT in the almost 2 months back. Knock on wood and hope to hell I don't jinx myself, but it is shocking as I was informed during orientation the companies score was of the less desirable. Haven't went around a scale and was unbothered during hell week
Have a scale master friend and a KS trooper friend that both told me they look for dirty windshields, crap on the dash, cooler on the buddy seat and trash covering the foot window so naturally I do my best to keep the bugs off my glass, only thing on my dash is my ext. speaker, no cooler and no visable trash
