Sure it can be done, but why not just keep the Autoshift and convert it into a Manual. The Eaton Autoshift is a basically a 10 Speed with a Computer controlling the shifts, eliminate the Computer, change the Top Plate and Shifter and rewire the Nuetral Safety Switch and you'll have a Manual again.

Mmmmmmm. Are you sure about that. I'm perty sure the case is diffrent between the two. Guy I know is doing this exact swap and he had to get a whole new trans. Local gear shop said you can't convert a auto shift into a manual.

just di mine from autoshift to manual cost me $5,700 . had to buy the whole new 10spd. not all of them can become manual

Seems like a decent price for it. I thought for sure the cost was going to be pretty high.

If it's a Eaton Autoshift with a Clutch Pedal inside the tractor, just like a Manual equipped tractor, it can be converted using the same transmission case and internals. My friend has a former USxpress 2000 Volvo VNL770 with a Eaton Autoshift and had too many problems with it, (mainly the computer) and finally converted it into a Manual Transmission using the same case and internals. It will cost you around $1800-2500. There are Shops that know how to do it, of course it's easier and more profitable for a Shop to say you can't, and charge you twice as much for a R&R.Last edited: Jan 23, 2015

I have the same truck, and would like to do the same thing, convert the auto to a manual shift, with same trans... can u possibly get your friend to post up the list of parts the shop used? or even the invoice??? that would be great..

You can't convert an autoshift to manual regardless which model you have, there is no place to mount a slave valve and standard air system on the auto also the shift bar housing and range cylinder cap are different. I have converted them using a standard 10 speed case. A good used case can be had for $350 and a lid for around the same, the sliding clutches have thinner teeth also to allow the computer to shift into gear at higher gear shaft speed differentials and they would wear rapidly if subjected to the abuse of human error.

Where did you have your conversion done. I am seriously considering converting back to manual.
