Some OS/OW loads now exempt from the 30-minute rule

    Yea... an intelligent decision. Between this and scrapping the disastrous reset rules, the FMCSA is getting downright reasonable. Almost.

    Note that it doesn't apply to all OS/OW loads, however.

    but if your carrier has an alert in sms (safety measure system) you still are not exempt from the 30 min.

    Well we qualify under every chapter of the exemption however our company uses PeopleNet and apparently they had no clue this was coming so till PN reprograms we have no means of taking the exemption. I still did yesterday and will again on Monday.

    You need to carry a printed copy of the exemption in the truck to qualify and it must be an interstate move.
    Bees are exempt also.
    These exemptions are good for two years.
