How long will it take and how many companies will we have to lose until Washington gets a clue? Personally, since the specualtive bidding on oil is ruining our economy and nation I believe these speculative traders are really committing treason. There once was a day where people looked out for what was best for America. Now it is a what is best for me attitude. Only time will tell what this round of greed will do to this once great nation. Hopefully it will turn around, and soon.

I was very sad to hear that, that is the next town over, I also know someone that worked there, he was the Path trouble line, for the drivers. Our local paper did not give the reason, but I am assuming the deisel prices majorly impacted it!!
-
I had thought to go there eventually, but had decided to wait due to them being a smaller company and fuel prices. I knew they had closed there terminal down south recently.
BTW Woodstock, I live in Jamestown. -
Hey whats up chrome dome I am in Fredonia, well technically Town of Pomfret. Nice to hear from you! Do you know any more about the reason they closed?
-
Nope. I had talked to them about 6 months ago. At that point they seemed to be doing ok, but i noticed a few things that have changed with the fuel costs. For there owner ops they use to do 1.30 a gal for fuel, not a surcharge, they would not be charged more than that. This was changes about 2 months ago back to surcharge. Once this happened they lost quite a few owner ops.
Also, back when I talked to them they said they did the 1.30 thing and not a surcharge because they have a hard time getting it paid at times.
I know they had really high turnover for a company that only hires experianced drivers also. When I was there they had on board where they had 200 drivers leave last year. 100% turnover on a small company is a bad sign.
I will keep my ears open and see if I hear anything else. I am on the road so you may here before me. -
My husband worked for them for a SHORT time and they wouldn't pay him for loads that he made and they took away the easy pass and you could never talk to anyone there because they didn't care about the drivers. It's pretty bad when the recruiter has to lie to get drivers. Even talked to an ex recruiter and she said they school you in what to say. PATH stands for: PATHETIC

Thanks chrome dome, I will keep my ears open, If I find out any more info, I will post it.

Anytime a Co doesn't pay its drivers, or for things like tolls, or fuel, will close in a short period of time. Looks like this CO had it comming..

I worked for Path for nearly 20 years and let me tell you what a good company they were.. All this stuff about stiffing drivers is just not true! Sure mistakes get made in checks but mention it and wallha.. it's in your check next week. The Ez-passes came off because of the cost of the surety bond the states wanted to have them on the trucks. When you're with a company for so long you get to know people very well and let me tell you the owners of Path were just simply good people.
