Looked into that school before choosing school im with now and the hotel they put students up in I hear is not well kept and has insect problems.
dieselgirl Thanks this. -
I went thru C1 - Fort Worth for my CDL. Based on my experience there:
1. Regular ol' Hotel Room. It was clean, double occupancy.
2. School itself was very disorganized and not very informative.
3. The Practice yard was poorly maintained, the equipment was also poorly maintained. It did pass inspection (Road Tractors at least).
4. They rush you out of the door.
5. Not enough instructors for the students. In one week they teach you all their backing/maneuvering/shifting/downshifting. But they had 3 yard trainers, and groups of 30 students at a time. With two classes in rotation (two weeks all together. One week in classroom/taking cdl tests/ physical etc, One week on the yard, Practicing on the Road, and Getting CDL).
I didn't learn a lot from them, but I got my CDL. PAM taught me a little more at their orientation. My trainer taught me more still. I learned most of it on my own.
If I had to do it again I'd just go to my community college. I don't know your situation, but as someone who went thru C1 and in to PAM, I really want to tell you to try something else. You don't get what you pay for at C1, and PAM is sort of a bad deal to. You can make money at PAM, but you really have to learn the ropes fast to do it. You can make more elsewhere, and easier while you do it. That's my 2 cents.JZenn Thanks this. -
