Yeah, all they gave me was the medical card (which would be called the short form)?
Anyway, I will try going there and asking for a copy of the long form. Thanks
don't need to carry medical card now?

The new rule applies to CDL drivers. As of five days ago (June 22), once your medical certification is applied to your license, you no longer have to carry your card with you.

I am in the middle of renewing my medical, have to see my eye doctor because of a waiver I have, once that is done I can go back to the DOT doctor to sign off and will see what I get. Last year, I only get yearly med card (eye waiver) and got both card & long forum.
I was told by the DOT doctor “I” needed to do the on line cert. so the state (NC) would have it. Same as I had to do back in my old state (CT) years past. As for not needing to carry it I have not heard anything about that and my new employer (started last week) did ask for my license, medical card & SS card for records.
BTW I will carry everything I can, medical card, long forum and my medical eye waiver along with license.

Either you or I got it confused but.....
My last med card.... You had to take your own papers in to dmv.. But when I got it done last time my doctor said I didn't have to they do it paperless but I was still provided a medical card. So they put it in th system via whatever they use scan and send? But we still get a med card when we're done. -
We now pull a copy of the driver's DMV record for the driver's file about 10 days after they get a new medical card, and check to see if the info at the DMV has been updated with the new medical card expiration. So far, so good.
Barney Fife may not know to check it.DrPatCME Thanks this.
