Hey guys I have enjoyed this thread as I am considering hiring on with ATS, company driver though. I can't afford a truck payment at the moment.
I currently run with TMC, too many taped loads for the money. Sounds like, at least from the couple of you that have been posting your loads, ATS doesn't have as many "taped loads", I like that. And I would like to move into heavy haul, need more experience with od and such.
Good luck guys, stay safe!

I took cable reels to beloit wi then cedar rapids ia then deadhead up to st cloud. Got the meeting out of the way and got offers i wasn't crazy about then finally got offered a OD load from stillwater mn back to st cloud. Kinda sounds like its for the 4th of July celebration since its going to fireworks on the mighty mississipp.

We don't do many tarp here. I don't do any. Tarping wears me out so i stay away from it. Company drivers may tarp alittle more since some lease truck turn those loads down then they will put it on company truck.
In lerado there are some guys that come around and tarp the loads for the drivers for a fee. I have heard its not as much as the tarp pay so the driver still make little money doing nothing. I don't know if that works for company drivers though. -
Well the stillwater load was fun. Got loaded at a marina then met up with 5 other drivers in st cloud then 2 police escort in to the river to drop our trl for the nite. Crane showed up next morning and got unloaded.
Chose another od load la crosse wi to hastings ne. 10ft 7in wide chiller. Unloaded that yesterday and chose st joe to temple tx.88 Alpha Thanks this. -
I gotta ask, once your lease is up is the truck yours free and clear or is there a massive balloon payment... Just curious how many of yall actuialy have the title to your rig

It's not a lease purchase. Outta a one year lease. You drive it for a year and give it back and get a $4,000 bonus. You can either lease the same truck again for cheaper, but the truck they'll help with financing. Or lease a different truck. Or do they're TAP program which is a true lease purchase on a new truck you spec out the way you want. There's a bit more but that's the gist of it.

After i got that off i went around the corner and loaded 2 crates headed to pa and ny. Gave it to another driver in San Antonio so i can take a day off. Nothing good offered so stayed home couple days then got a OD load on thur. Went down to loredo to get it then go back home for couple more days since it dont del til mon. Took to long to get a confirmation on whether to tarp it or not to make it back home b4 curfew so i secured it and bobtailed home. Went back sun then del it yesterday in Houston. Widest load of my career. 12ft 2in wide about 13 ft tall.
Loaded 3 valves in Houston today going to clymer ny for fri. -

One advice is to choose percentage. The load im on is paying me $2.21 cpm to the truck from Pittsburgh to san deago. Miledge would have paid 1.33 cpm.
Ok is a decent freight area. Its my home state plus we have a yard in tulsa. -
What's it like running out west for ats? I'm in Oregon and have thought about doing a similar deal as you are. But I do know the I5 is pretty tied up fright wise, I'm just tired of the same ol grind. Really great trend by the way!
