Plus your mandatory 30 minute rest break. Don't know many people who can run 11 hrs non stop.Little Whistle Britches Thanks this.

Its the old bait and switch tactic

When I great Govt. Gets there way, and they will, all trucks will be governed. So either deal with it, or find a different occupation.
-
Yeah, if you're straight up intrastate no stops, no traffic, weather, or accidents and don't forget different speed zones. I drove for swift at 62 mph... I'd only seen 620 miles in one go maybe 3-4 times in the 4 years I was slaving for them. Speed reduction = governed miles and pay per day/week/month/yr... That and that stupid illegal 34 hr reset rule they forced on the slaves of the industry.. tell me, I'm new here.. have they abolished that slave driving tyrannical money killing rule yet??
-
Just wondering because, no one not even the Government should be able to tell a driver when he or she should or can take a break, and then punish you for taking it when he or she feels it is necessary, by saying, "oh, by'the'way... You can't get your reset until this amount of time has passed.. so, take this small check for the week.. who cares if it's less than minimum wage.. it's your fault for not letting us whip you SLAVE... Now drive"!!!

I'll tell you this and what it means... that raise and slower truck means YOU need to change YOUR schedule to work with the load being on time and they expect nothing less. Think about it. If you were already getting great miles at lets say 42 cents I'd rather keep 42 and my 70mph truck rather than 45 and a slow truck.
P.s. You're going to start disliking working there just because of that. Being a company driver.... Although I can say for owner ops most run 65 66mph anyway. -
Raise pay then lower speed and given miles... Sounds like no raise at all.
-
Well if u now anything about TYSON FOODS you dont pick when those loads get dropped out of plants. i've already left that company and moved on with my own things.

truckerpete, I been with Tyson for almost four years, starting my search for greener pastures. was wondering where you went to?
When the trucks got tuened down they only turned my cruise down, I still have foot feed @ 70, but am moving to PA and may be forced to run only north east and I don't like that so much.
