You know nothing about them or their kids. In my opinion when kids start to get up around 12 and older they don't need their mom and dad as much that's what's wrong with the little punks now their on mom's tit till their 15. When I was 10 my mom went back to school got a degree and then went to nursing school she was gone alot for 6 years All I remember is being very proud of her and thinking she is someone to be like married at 16. 4 boys by 22 and back to college at 30 if you think I would have rather her have stayed home and mother me instead of make something of her life your mistaken. Be the kind of parent you want your kids to be and stay out of other people's buisness.

I appreciate the great feedback guys.
I absolutely don't mind the opinions of our parenting options. My children are awesome, well adjusted kids. At the end of the day, we have an awesome village --- call it new age, call it young parenting, etc. etc. My father served this country, he was gone a lot - I AM THE PROUD DAUGHTER OF A MARINE CAPTAIN.
Our sacrifices as a family, are for the long term benefit. The world we live in now, financially calls for unconventional methods of security. We can't count on one source for family wealth and structure, because the economy tends to rip some of those options right from under you. We believe in multiple streams of income.
Our children are excited, they are actually debating each other about who gets to ride a long first. Someone mentioned it being about "money". I must say, the gentle approach about "All you need is love, to be happy, etc. etc," IT FEELS warm and fuzzy, however my lifetime role models are happy with lifetime financial security as well as the love of their family. We strive for both.
NEVERTHELESS - I still respect the parents who feel I am an awful mother for our family choice. I'll live.
THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE REST OF YOU WHO ANSWERED THE QUESTION. -

Gee I guess all of us OTR drivers are terrible parents. Good God worry about your own kids.
To the OP. As stated before husband wife teams are very valuable to the industry. But be prepared, your view of trucking as getting paid to travel is not the paradise you may think. It's a job and nothing more. I've driven in all 48 plus most of Canada and you know where I like to truck best? Kansas because it's flat and that means I don't have to pull hills which means I make better time. That's what your traveling comes down to. It's all about efficiency and making the most of your 70.
I will also second Joes opinion, you will be the absolute hottest trucker I've ever seen. Make sure you get a C.B so you can't tease all of us bored drivers.mosstrap, TeamDent and joseph1135 Thank this. -
Quit flirting Joe, or we'll put you in time out again.
