Okay guys and gals. I've got to pop for a new one. My Cobra bit the dust a couple of months ago.

MAIN ISSUE ---- Anyone have any ideas for the most reliable? Up to $250 ? I'm not looking at size yet. I want dependability and length of service.

My Cobra lasted 3 years. And was taken out, I suspect by a short in my system, Since everything else electric went to hell in a hand basket shortly thereafter.

I'll check into it. Maybe the guy at my local parts house can find one. He's usually good at finding odd stuff.

We have 3 majors in this one horse town. And he still manages to make a living, stocking some of the most off the wall parts you'll ever need for most cars. I've never seen anyone like this guy. Need a muffler for your Caddy? He doesn't have one. Need a factory hanger for that muffler? He's got 3 of em.

For the cost of the Cobra, 3 years and no telling how much longer (had it not been shorted) sounds like a pretty good product actually.

Yeh, but I'm one of the cheapest b#### you'll ever meet. I paid $200 for the Cobra because it came with a lifetime replacement warranty, through my previous employer. As long as I worked there, they would replace it no questions asked.

And that's the only reason I bought it. But, I may well go with another. Since they are only $149 through most truck stops.
