My new KW has the built in infotainment, or NavPlus as KW calls it. It features Garmin based truck navigation. Sometimes useful, other times rather annoying. It seems that the maps are loaded with tons of bad information. Even when not using the navigation feature, it will sound a painfully loud tone over the speakers announcing a warning that the road weight limit is too low. I have the truck settings set to 9T axle weight, and even on a 9T road, the alerts will ding over and over. Is there a way to disable the warnings / alerts feature of the nav? I'm used to using Garmin in my personal vehicles, but I can't seem to find a way to disable this. Nothing like having built in Garmin nav and still wanting to use the Rand McNally TND instead.

I discovered www.garmin.com/paccar to register the in dash unit and check for updates. Aside from that I thought I'd just change the truck settings to something light...like 4T axle weight thinking maybe that won't trigger the alerts.

If there is it should be in the settings menu.
There should be a user manual in the glovebox unless the shop stole it.AdamT2k Thanks this. -
I have it too when it first comes on and asks you to verify vehicle profile. Just set weight to something like 4000 lbs gross and zero out the other weights.

Yes, The tone being preset to "Loud and obnoxious", challenge in getting dealer support at my servicing dealer and seemingly inflexible programming options makes me want to tear it out to eliminate the issue. In any other unit I've had in the past you can adjust the tone by using the volume during the tone. This doesn't seem to work. I've disabled and then saved the disabled settings for all the warning tone and I too still get the warnings. This is supposed to be my friend in the cab and the tone issue is curbing my use. Any body know how to turn the volume down on that feature?
