Is there something else in his background that is keeping him from getting calls? We live in an industry that as soon as you say you are interested your phone doesn't stop ringing. I have know more than one driver that had to cancel his number.
Mercer, LS and F2F are not going to be companies that will just bring you in over night. So if desperate, be warned. LS is quicker these days but not like some companies that you can call on Friday and be at orientation on Monday. (Have to wonder about them).
But be careful about bouncing. Most good carriers will look at driving history in terms of carriers as much as accidents and tickets.

The better companies will take longer to get on. Just because you have a truck you can't just pick a company and hire on. Landstar only leases about 2 out of 100 that apply.
