At the company I'm with now we are expected and required to follow the HOS and don't spend a lot of time sitting in docks so I don't think its going to be a big change when we go to elogs .I've never had them and used to be totally against it . I don't think it should be mandatory though .
how to tell a good company from a bad one in just a few minutes..

I don't agree, Penske & Ryder are a great way to get a nationwide service network. A certain mega-carrier was more than willing to risk MY license, because they were too cheap to pay for roadside assistance. "Just bring it back to our shop" they'd say, "it's only 3 states away!"
650 miles on a flat? I think not.
You can just PM me that company's info. I'll take it.xlsdraw, Dinomite and Getsinyourblood Thank this. -
Just pm'd you

I drive a brand new truck with an APU and an inverter. Truck runs 68 mph and I am on e-logs. I pull newer to brand new trailers and i run true 48 states. And my paycheck will be over $1800 this week. I really must be doing something wrong!!!

I wouldn't doubt it. Just limp it in, right? I worked for a company once that had nothing but lease trucks. Every little thing that had to be fixed, the driver got to bobtail the truck over to the leasing company and deal with it. For free, of course. To me, if you don't have a shop in your home terminal, that's a big red flag.
This is a good thread, btw.Buffalo69 Thanks this. -
Oops, never mind. The subject was ELogs, ok.

Actually, a good company will have you running legal and still take home good money. We run e-logs and we are governed under 70. Our drivers regularly make over 90k+ while being home every night. For those that stay out 5 days a week will make way more than that. I've lost count of how many drivers we have with 30+ years with the company. Did I mention 4 weeks paid vacation? 11 paid holidays plus paid sick days and jury duty days?
This last 4th of July I sat by my pool drinking beer and got paid for it. That's my definition of freedom. Not bad for an e-log company huh?
My point? Don't judge a company by it's use of e-logs. And try not to infect young drivers minds into thinking that outfits that run on paper are all that. Nothing could be further from the truth.Dinomite Thanks this. -
E-LOGS suck...They make the job like being in jail...and I would feel like a LOSER if I let myself get used to being in jail.
poppapump1332 and TankerP Thank this. -
How to find out in a fast way. That easy, check to see how many, if any at all, are there any drivers that retire with a good amount of years from that company.
