It seems everyone is taking what I say the wrong way! I guess I need to leave for a while
All I am/was here for is 1) to teach those who might want help (which I don't have to do, I chose to) and 2) to convince you to run legal.
If you chose to run illegal I feel you should know what can happen.
If a company allows drivers to run illegal they are taking the chance of getting the company shut down or taking the chance of themselves or their driver going to jail.
If the drivers run legal we all have a job and we all stay away from Bubba
Them are the reason I am here! I am going to repeat myself one more time and I really don't want to hear it again after this!
I do not have to drive a truck to understand what it's like out there! I TOTALLY understand! I have sympathy for you drivers on that respect.
Now to understand the actual truck/trailer issue's or accidents, yes I would need to drive a truck to understand.
I don't need to drive a truck to understand how to teach a driver how to run legal, to teach him/her the regulations or what can happen if he doesn't run legal!
My idea of legal is a driver who takes a load knowingly he could do it LEAGAL and might run into a problem or two. He should then have a company that understands these situations happen (which my company does) and adjust the time of pickup/delivery or relay.
My idea of a driver running illegal: Is a driver who picks up a load when he/she should be on his/her break and drives 3 hours to get to a truck stop to shut down. He got that load didn't he. You didn't but would have if he shut down for that 10 hour break like he was supposed to![]()
So I will take a break! If you need anything you can ask and I might reply![]()
Should I just start telling everyone to run illegal?

The issue is this logs. I don't come on here and say I can do your job. I know about it, but I am not going to say I can do it without the have to do it deal. If you get this rattled on a board then you could not handle this job. This is no stress on this board. I know and a bunch of others drivers know that you care about what you do and are good at it. Point is you can know about something, but until you actually walk that mile there is no blisters on the heel. I have just been rattling you, but there is truth to what I am saying. You need the windshield view to understand.
I am sorry if I have offended you, but you know the book side and the book doesn't have all the chapters. I do not advocate running illegal, but there are times when your system won't work. -
Logs do not leave you have taught me alot about logs and I like reading your posts

Logs, easy now. Take. A. Deep. Breath.
While you can't teach this old dog any new tricks, as I've been at this too long and know full well how to play the game, your advise is no doubt helpfull to many, mainly newbs.

I have always enjoyed reading and learning from the discussion that logs has created, and clarified. It is nice to here from the book side. It is also nice to here from the real world side, of how to run legal, within the rules, and maximize my earning potential.

LogsRus, don't leave, you are very good at the book side of HOS and give a bunch of incite on it.
Logs, every company can control HOS with todays computers already installed in the truck. The companies choose to let the drivers make the books look legal. With the company I drove OTR for in the past, was sent a summary of the total hour the truck was driven and total hours the engine was run every seven days. I don't remember a full 7 day week that I was ever under 80 hours in seven days, let alone 8 days. The cost of an accident is already built into the cost of running a company.
