Back about 4 years ago I was running Hwy 78 west in Mississippi headed to Memphis. At the time the road was constructed of concrete and the right lane was really rough to run in. I was easing along, running the speed limit with no traffic, in the left lane. There was an old woman that passed me on the right, cut in front of me and slammed on her brakes. A few mins later I recieve a call from my saftey department. The old gal had called in on me saying I was driving dangerously! Guess she was TO'd that I was in the left lane. I've wanted a dashcam every since then.

Hi oneperfectrun, absolutely!!! I wouldn't drive a truck today, without a dashcam. In court, it's your only credible form of defense. This site, from time to time, has members that post videos of what happened. (PMracing, and PackRatTDI have some great ones). Besides, the look on the faces of the people suing you, when they see you have a video, is priceless!
oneperfectrun Thanks this. -
you know, you can use your cell phones with a free app.
TONS of things one can do with their old phones. just because they aren't activated. don't mean they are worthless. -
What's the app called?

Dailyroadsvoyager. Was highly talked about on this forum awhile back.
It has speed and gps. But apparently no matter what program or app one uses. It's only displayed on the device. Speed and gps won't show on a computer. Which is dumb. -
The main thing to do, whichever one you buy, is get to know the settings and features soon as you can. While waiting for a load, etc. The menus on them can be unclear. Don't wait till you've captured something important and risk losing it by learning as you go.
