I drove that same year Volvo for my CDL training and road test except it had the Volvo engine and 18 speed. It was a little plain inside for my taste but it was a real comfortable riding truck.

I honestly can't tell you. Most of the trucks I worked on did a lot of low speed/stationary work. A couple of trucks I worked on had less than 30k miles on them but over 21,000 hrs on the engine.

I believe the op should stay where he is until he has more information on how O/O's work. The last time I was OTR was some time ago but did know the companies would not hire a truck that was more than 5 years old. So I would check that first. Then I would go and check the routes and station you can get parts and such. I know everyone wants a CAT engine but I have seen many draw backs to owning CAT. First off the CAT dealer makes their biggest payout from the construction equipment. So some times the road service will not be that fast. We had many problems with CAT and stayed away from them afterwards. Detroits are a little better and have came up over the years but it's still ify on the power. I have had the least amount of problems with Cummins. The parts are there and easy to get fixed. However, some of the models my not be that good. It's worth a study on your part to see what's best for you for the application the truck will be doing. That's just it. You need a complete study of your business plan to have any chance at all.
