Good morning to everyone
hope everyone had a good weekend-just peeking around for a GPS for when i hit the road and came across the Worldnav truck routing 7" GPS. It can come with a 3.5" screen (too small to use on the road) or a 7" model that would be perfect for truckers. Only problem is the 7" cost 599.00 thats quite alot of money to lay out, but would be good if it lived up to its billing-says it has truck routing, restricted routes, low bridges and so forth. Anyone out there have one or are thinking about it, sure seems like it would be nice-let me know what you guys (and gals) think of this unit
keep the wheels turning and be safe out there

If its from teletype theres a thread somewhere about it . Co pilot is getting ready to release their stand alone unit for around 399 . They have a very good setup for laptops .

Don't know if I'd want a 7", at least not where my present GPS is mounted. ( it's the mid sized one, 4.5" maybe?) Sitting on the top portion of the dash of my W900, at night it can be a real distraction.
But if these are the ones that are trucker oriented, I'm just glad to hear they're finally comming out!
Just this am, had a delivery south of New Orleans, and Mr. Garmin brought me down a "NO TRUCKS!" street; same story after the delivery, just different street. I'm sure everybody has a horror story about that.

They claim its for trucks and oriented towards them, sure would be nice to have something like this instead of one that mostly gets it right

Let us all know what you find out, would be really interesting to see if this thing is the real deal or just some smoke and mirrors, if it does really do what it says it should be a very good seller

Well does it work?
thanks

Since I'm a trucker's daughter, I have seen some of the headaches that my Daddy has gone through. The last thing a trucker wants is a pricey GPS that won't do anything but create more headaches. Since I don't have a WorldNav GPS of my own, I can't give a definite good or no good opinion. There aren't that many places that have reviews about this GPS. I was lucky and found some websites that had reviews. It seems to me like the TeleType Company (the makers of WorldNav) is pretty small in size, so customer support might be a hassle. Some people have had problems with the system locking up. The complaints that concern me the most are the overall function of the GPS - the accuracy of the maps (trying to take you through a route with dangerously low clearances or it not being able to recognize streets that have been around for decades) .
Other people have not had any problems with it and are very happy with it. I couldn't figure out whether the people reviewing were actual Semi/RV drivers. Hopefully truckers that have bought this system will come forward and let us all know what they think about it.
Happy Trails.
