Well, it's been one year since I moved to the NorthEast and I can honestly say the load board is the worst it has ever been in that time up here.
Less loads and rates are down. And yes I keep track of rates on loads I do all the time, so I know they are down. Not all of it is FSC either...
Still making what I need to make, just takes more loads and more time.
Still enjoy doing this..... Some days....

One of the reasons there are less loads could be the time of year. Most businesses slow down in the summer months (July / August). Kids are out of school, people travel on vacations and take 3 day weekends.
I used to own a printing business, and my sales would be half in the summer than the rest of the year.
The freight rates will naturally soften if the amount of freight is less. -
I started in late December and I also can say running Northeast isn't that great now.
During winter it actually was great for me and I saw down south was really really terrible.
Now the southern states are a lot better and the Northeast is ehhh.
I think it has to do a lot with the season, during winter I use to see the Northeast was "oversold" and that doesn't happen anymore and it was the Northeast that got hammered by bad weather this winter. -
Im noticing a drop in rates.....everywhere.

"Jul 12 - 18 - The national average rate for vans dropped another 2¢ to $1.85 per mile last week, as freight volume enters a July lull."

July Lull Continues
Jul 12 - 18 - Freight availability continued its July lull on the spot market last week, leading to a decline in load-to-truck ratios and rates for vans, reefers and flatbeds.

So much for that "driver shortage"

This time of the year has always sucked. August and September aren't going to be any better

The staging of loads will begin but they won't be available for us for awhile.

Well, things got better this week...
Worked seven days and revenued $7100 on $1.98 all miles...
Best week ever...
I wish every week could be this good, but unfortunately the loads don't always line up...
