I have looked into the few companies that were mentioned in this thread, Frey, Henderson, Trimac, and Con-way. I talked to a con-way recruiter earlier today since ran many con-way loads with England, and she told me 0.38 a mile, with 1800-2200 miles a week, I did the math and thats a little over $800 a week before deductions. Didn't know con-way paid so little, well I shouldn't say little, just not as much as I imagined.

So it seems, I won't be able to break $100K unless I train again, but I don't want to train. That stuff takes its toll on a person. So I have adjusted my expectations, and reasonably, someplace where I can make $50K-$65K if I really ran hard, and they paid pretty decent. I don't care about miles, because I can dictate my own miles if I can get to a good company and do most of my DM's job for him, and possibly even pre-book my own loads.

I just don't want to be on the road for more than two years at most. I have never done solo driving before, because to be honest, I would have sunk like the titanic at CRE doing that. I have many friends and students fail miserably at becoming a lease solo driver. They barely made $300-$500 a week doing it, before they almost always quit. So yes, I know the traps that England lays as far as solo driving goes. The only solos at england I knew personally, were the owner-ops. And that's only because they didn't have a $3000 truck payment over their head each and every month.

Hey, PI,
My friend didn't drive for over 3 years and almost every company told him no, get more training, except Crete. Crete can hire after you've been not driving so long because they are self-insured. They will still make you go with a trainer for a few weeks, but you don't have to go thru school again, if I am correct. And they are one of the highest paying solo outfits on the road.

PS, everyone: yes, CRE did allow two trainees with a trainer, and you could make pretty awesome money, tho' the rules have been changed now

Blackshack, I take it either you are a new driver, or just genuinely not able to understand how a truck with 3 people works. Either way, you will probably never understand it, because you will probably never do it. Not many people I know, or knew that trained two student like I did. But, its legal, and its honestly the best way to train, and definitely the best way to learn.

And obviously, you are a genuine troll, that is certain, so again, please step off and troll another thread.

As for right now, it would be great if I could make 1000 a week take home and be home everyday. THen I could have time to study and work on other things. Possibly even work a second job and make twice as much, and still be home everyday.

And.....you.....said....you....were.....an....accountant....at one point???

I am sorry If you guys don't understand how this three people on a truck works. Only me, and all the other trainers out there that trained 2 trainees on our trucks will probably understand how it works.
