What is the best radio on the market today?

Jeez man. With my 7 foot Firestik and negative radiator, I talked 26 miles the other day. I was on I-80 in IL, at the 105, talking to a guy at the 79. And I have the same radio...

Well if a predator tunes better than the 5' firestick,ill stick with that ant..Dont know what your set up is other than a 955 and 7ft..Plus a fibreglass will sway in the wind on the mirror arm and i think its not gonna be good in the winter being so long...I got a bracket commin from FTL DIST that will raise my ant up a good bit away from the truck..Go to ftl's site and look for cascadia 40" antenna mount..
If i were to do a skip shooter it would be to tall for back of the trucks sleeper so may as well get a 102 whip..Its just because my ant is between the sleeper and nose of trailer..To much reflection with all the surrounding metal..

 

Bird. Perch.

I swore this setup wouldn't work good when I first embarked on it back in 2013. Now I wouldn't have it any other way.

 

Did the bird perch but it stripped out the bolt hole..I had a volvo and mounted it to mirror arm..Used a few lengths of grounding cable and it was awsome..Took me for ever to realize the doors had plastic bushings in the hinges..Messed with me for ages..Finally got that all set up nicely and then i get this new cascadia..Start messing with this crap all over again..

 

You must've had the little bird perch mount that only uses one of the bolt holes. Get the big one that uses both and you won't have problems with that. And get it from Bob's CB because his is stainless steel.

 

As for ice in the winter... coat the whip with WD40 and nothing will stick to it, not even the dead bugs.

 

So is mine, but I had mine made. You don't have to use the longer bolts with it because it is not as thick as the aluminum one.
