The carrier, EC trucking enterprises inc out of miami, fl, has only had its authority since 11/4/14. And it had its authority revoked & reinstated following an insurance lapse in May.

One of the bikes broke down.
They let him out on bond.
Must be way south of the border by now.
So what was the judge thinking? -
"They let him out on bond"???? I cannot believe this.
The article states that the trucker claimed the arrest was illegal because the trooper did not speak Spanish. This is bull$hit! The Federal Regulations very plainly states that a CDL holder must read and speak English. But I know, all this is going to be swept under the rug because the trucker is a immigrant and we certainly do not want to harm an immigrant.Last edited: Jul 21, 2015

It's an outlaw Florida carrier, the laws don't apply to them.

I think people should learn from road crews that work behind barricades for a reason, and assume that putting themselves in that position is at most one second away from standing in the middle of the road. Of course it isn't their fault, just like it isn't some highly trained climber's fault for being blown off of k2, but it happens when people go there, and they know this. Cyclists are slightly nuts for trusting that every vehicle will miss them with this whole "share the road" mentality. Because, guess what, all other vehicles that share the road collide, every day.
