Wyoming hasn't stopped being windy. Summer has nothing to do with the wind. If it's cloudy when he rolls through. He can gaurantee wind.
Even the 287 can get pretty hairy. As it was the last time i took that road.

I20w, to Birmingham Al, us 78 to Memphis TN, to I40w, Amarillo Tx, to US287n to limon CO to I70W to Denver co, to I25N cheyenne WY, to I80w to salt lake city.. No large pulls. good highways also.

Now if it snowing when you get to Denver you might want to go either thru Wyoming or across 70 in Colorado depending on where the snow is,, Either route in the summer is good,, I have run 70 across Colorado many many times grossing over 130,000lbs . The grades thru Colorado and most western interstates are not really all that bad,,try some on some 2 lanes in the western states where the grades exceed 14% up and down the mountains with curves then it gets fun,,Or for more fun trt Hwy 6 over Loveland in the snow.
