I'm looking at their website. The training period seems kind of short (only 2-3 weeks on the road with finishing trainer?) other companies I've looked at have you with a finishing trainer for 2-3 months after you get your CDL. What's their reputation for safety among other drivers?

None of the above.
Go to a private school near your home. For me I choose a local school, used some of my my GI college bill money and actually learned things that I use daily in my career today and that is 11 years on. Most of the large usual suspect crap companies will rush anyone through just to fill that empty spot behind a wheel. Not to say all private ones are good but a quick online check of reviews can go a long way. If drivers to be lack funds there are all kinds of programs to help, from federal to state. -
I did Roehl in January. It is "intense" but don't forget they have the same goal as you to make you a safe driver. After the time you get a truck and cargo and they can't call their customers all the time that cargo is lost due to an accident, right?
For me that was the main reason to choose Roehl, their reputation and the shared interest to make me a good driver.
Now 45000 miles solo down the line. No major incident, I bumped a tire and lost a mudflap due to my mistakes. Since January they added a week of school so now the program is 4 weeks and they started to pay you wages while in school.kiwi23 Thanks this. -
I just finished the 4 week program , 4 days ago

I finished school last Friday and orientation earlier this week I'm officially hired as a Millis driver and will be heading out with my trainer Monday . Seems to be a great company so far!

Prime pays lodging, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Training is 10,000 miles as a student driver, after you get your CDL you run 40,000 miles with a trainer. Somewhere in that 40,000 miles your trainer and you will switch to team whenever he thinks you're ready for it.
From what I understand your trainer can keep you with him for more or less time depending on how well you're doing.kiwi23 Thanks this.
