Gotta feel for the guy.... one time I set my phone down on the tire and forgot. Oops. Expensive lesson.

Keep my rig locked, have insurance and a spare burner phone just in case.
    Gotta CYA

I know it seems like I just disagree to disagree sometimes, BUT....

I think it is totally the companies responsibility.

First off, they should be insured for this sort of thing.

Did they train him properly about how to secure personal items while away from the vehicle? I'd guess not.
Did they dispatch him to a location that employed thieves, knowingly or otherwise? I think yes.
Did they contact his mother while driver was still a toddler and impress upon her the importance of teaching her children a sense of responsibility? I'd say no, they did not.
Did they make any effort to not a hire a person who blames others for there own mistakes? I'd guess not.

So yes. The company is at fault, and should simply make an insurance claim.

Did I read that right?? Your blaming your company??? WTF

I'll sometimes forget to lock my door. But my cellphone always comes with me.

What's with the it's everyone's fault but my own generation. You left yourself vulnerable for attack. The world does have thieves and evil doers. Always keep your situational awareness on full alert. Keep those doors locked and cell phone on you.

    pattyj and MJ1657 Thank this.

I ran over my phone with a forklift when I worked at Pepsi. Never occurred to me to blame my employer. Guess I'm not as smart as Opie.:(

I still remember the rainy day I walked into our local gas station, I had the slip on rubber boots on, one step off the rug and I was on my "arse", The owner was there and asked if I needed an ambulance, she had a look of fear in her eyes, Maybe I was raised right, but it was my fault I fell, I wouldn't have sued if bones were sticking out of me.

I heard a story about an elderly man who ran over a pedestrian in the street once. When the police showed up the old man was talking about suing the pedestrian for being in the road.
