I have been driving 26 years. 8 years over the road with 2 small companies from 1989 to 1997 that no longer exist and 18 years with my current employer. The company I'm with now I run local ( VA. NC.) home every day. I have taken some OTR runs when I wanted a change. 500 - 600 mile days are the norm which makes me label this kind of running super regional. Anyway family obligations are over and its time to do what I love running the open road. Schneider Choice was on my radar when it started and still is as a place to retire. The question is Schneider has changed the wording on there website from 6 months to 1 year OTR to 6 months CDL driving experience. Would I qualify for Choice or would they still want 6 months company driving ?

If I did have to do company for 6 months would it be true tall miles OTR or would they throw me up in the northeast jumping around with short hauls making no money ?

They just changed the wording recently I guess I'll find out when I call them. If I have to do the 6 months OTR it won't hurt to figure out there customer base, paper work and how to use E Logs.

I would recommend doing 6 months otr with Schneider anyway. This will give you a lot of info on how they run, freight lanes, where their OCs are and how the SChneider conglomorate works.

I was told today by Schneider today that i needed to go six months with them OTR also before I can do the choice program. I have over 14 years experience but no OTR. They also said if I can buy my own truck outright they could probably let me come aboard without the OTR.

    superduty Thanks this.
