This is powerful. Texting and driving video

OH and because I stand by my point of view, out of the seven phones in our home, only one of them has text features turned on because that phone is used for business purposes and I get alerts for different reasons. My kids feel if it is important to text, just call them and tell them what they wanted to text, and they have told their friends to stop wasting their time with text messages.

 

Much as I Dislike the coppers. Glad they do it ( playing with phones while driving ) Less attention on me

 

I thought about that as well,. but that would be impossible to differentiate who is driving and who is not. So unfortunately they would just have to get over it and wait until the vehicle stopped. Priority is for safety.

If people who drive would just stop doing it then we all could be happy as passengers. Unfortunately its much like drinking and driving. I was in court years ago over a window tint ticket and 2 people were in there crying and trying to fight their 3rd DUI. Despite their pathetic emotional sorrow,.. I have no sympathy or pity for them at all. How many breaks do you need to figure it out?

What would people do while on a bus? Or the many people who take taxis or have chauffers drive them around? The team driver who is in the bunk? They are not able to conduct business simply because they are in motion? It is a complex problem that requires much more thinking. I'd be very surprised if it actually happened.

 

The technology exist to simply block the phone from either receiving or sending text while in motion, but no instead of that law makers and lobbyst will keep creating laws to make our life on the road harder and less profitable.

I understand that it might be a big deal for passengers, but if it's what it take to make our roads safer, it is a small price to pay.

I am not perfect i use to text while driving too but about 8-9 years ago i did cross Knoxville without even realizing it, that day i said to my self never again this is just stupid.

A 17 year old ended up bankrupting her parents, as in losing an $850,000 house, after she hit and killed a women crossing the street in a crosswalk where you were supposed to stop for people crossing the street.

 

They can do the same thing people did on buses 20 yrs ago. Play Gameboy and look at the scenery. Heaven forbid, they cant send or receive a text for a few hours. The world may stop.

Or they can,.. wait for it,.. gasp,.. put a wireless blutooth device in their ear and make a hands free phone call,.. now there is a concept.

That app is already out there, almost every phone carrier has it.

 

I don't see an auto enable at a set speed.

 

Just what we need, more government interference.
