That sounds like a google route to me
That was a long run,Why would any company allow a shipper/consignee to tell the driver what routes he had to drive except during the final miles where restricted routes possibly were or low clearance etc.?

Good for you! Wish every dispatcher had to run a minimum of 6 months.
That's the way it should be to keep you rolling!
Hell no!
What company are you with where you have options on dispatcher?MidwestResident Thanks this. -
That's the point where we just have to do what's necessary. we've all been through it.
What company? leasing or are you O/O? makes a differenceMidwestResident Thanks this. -
Some shippers do specify a route such as chip companies like Frito lay.. Bags explode at certain altitudes.. High value and more..

I will not reveal whom.. Doesn't matter

Perfect could not be said any better
" I don't ask I do"
absolutely these things your talking to your dm about are nonsense. "I don't ask I do" and every few months they thank me and tell me how awesome I am at what I do other then that what's there to talk about? They have their job behind a computer screen I have my job behind the wheel.Dominick253 and MidwestResident Thank this. -
Never knew that cause I never took FL up to Denver but have many times to Lynchburg, Va,
The only reason I ask is because some people talk big on here like they never have to do what a dispatcher tells them so I want to clarify the difference to Newbies as this is a forum with advice from experienced drivers, Don't think Newbies should start out thinking they never have to listen to dispatch. Leasing and being an O/O is different than company drivers.MidwestResident and powerhousescott Thank this. -
When one is a greenhorn they should do as they are told, until they learn better. I had a private in the Army think he did not have to do as I said. He found out real quick that my words were backed up by the stripes the Army had given me. I watched many a greenhorn when I came back out and was going through my two years recert time, that would argue with their dispatcher, and wonder why they were not getting miles. I often times seen truckers try and bully their dispatchers by whining them to death. LOL
MidwestResident and EndHatred Thank this. -
Its not about insubordination, I do listen to whom ever is in the office or on that end, I agreed to pick up and deliver.. If problems occur enroute, find the solution
