I would reform the company into a corp, get rid of the LLC thing asap and then bring in an accountant who knows what the heck they are doing to get the finances in order. Then make a few business decisions on what scenarios you have in your business plan.

Leasing and buying thing is for the accountant to figure out, a good one will help you quickly gain the needed capital or help fix the credit. One other reason why I choose to put my trucks as leased to carriers, I don't worry about this stuff, they have the trailers, they have the loads and the man hour load is reduced by a large factor, enough to cover the cost of another truck or two.

Having a kid who may have grown the business isn't fantastic, especially in today’s zero interest economy, growth isn't the end all to beat all thing, it is sustaining the business after the growth that matters more and at this point, this is just a flash in the pan thing for you.
