115 kph=71 mph

I drove for a company that had that speed limit on company trucks, they used Freightliner century class trucks. Its all in how the trucks are set up.

Yes you need a code to change the governed speed of the truck, but that needs a manufacturers "reader" to do this. It is legal to do this but it is up to the insurence rating of the company that determines the speed of the trucks. It all boils down to the bottom line, if the company can afford the insurence rating that is how fast they can go.

Most companies here in the US have a company speed limit of 105 kph or 65 mph...

 

Not sure about the insurance deal, but its also fuel economy too.

 

If the truck is registered in your name you can take it to the dealer and have them turn it up....

 

We have the software from Caterpillar that dealers use to download the trucks computer. Most small companies dont have them, they're outrageously expensive, but my boss got tired of paying someone else to download our trucks. We can now set the rpm limit, the idle time, the top speed, etc... We set our trucks at 80. Since we can tell what percentage the drivers run at certain speeds we turn them down if they abuse it. 80's for passing not cruising.

 

I was on I-20 W in Alabama last night doing 80 when a cattle trailer blew by me at about 100 mph!

To me, that's getting way to fast!
