If my Medical card is still valid (from a prior class B), do I still have to get a drug screen for school that starts in two weeks? The school is at a community college. I'm not worried about failing, I just don't want to spend 50 bucks if I don't have to.
School urine test

Medical card and pre-employment/school drug tests are 2 different things. You don't drug test to get you medical card. The urine test there is checking your sugar.

If you're willing to play around with your employability and livelihood, I don't see how $50 should be concerning to you.
-
Because I'm poor.

Yikes! Fifty bucks for a cup of whizz! Today being Sunday, call the school tomorrow and ask. They're your best source of information and they've probably heard the question before; then you'll know what's going on. Hang in there.Spreadneck Thanks this.

Yeah, check with the school, community college standards might be different than a dedicated truck school. My school (Sage) had all students do a urine drug screen, same as you'd have to take for the DOT. Prices vary, your school might know the cheapest one in your area.

When I went to school we all took a drug test at the beginning and they said one or two of us might get a random. The only guy that got the random was the tweaker looking dude that asked every company about hiring with a previous drug charge. Didn't seem that random....
He ended up going to the same company I went with and later failed their drug test I think because he disappeared soon after and the one guy that knew him hinted at it. Real winner that one. -
well 50 dollars? It should be part of tuition. But then again one needs to put skin in the game? 50 dollars is cheap. to prove you are at least able to be responsible.Last edited: Aug 3, 2015

It's not part of the tuition. Has to be done before I can even register for class. But yeah, I got this.
