Do carrier cams have such a thing?
I couldn't see the front of the car/truck in that video, maybe it was placed too low? it was an add for that brand yes?
If you run across me it will be on your dash cam & I will need a copy.![]()
Do you have a dash cam?

Which gopro do you have?MidwestResident Thanks this.

I have the cam set to the top edge of windshield, it grabs a bit of fisheye view. I set it to catch the edge of my hood for perspective of camera vehicle.
I download the "cool" videos from the sd cards. At my home 20. I have a few 8 gig sd cards so I can swap and not worry about space. Then if you have an issue. You can download the files you want or show not give it to the officer.
Never give them a copy. Only your insurance company and trucking company. Unless there is a fatality, then they will confiscate the dash cam sd card.MidwestResident, ghostdog and EndHatred Thank this. -

i don't have one yet. ill get the newest one available when i do though. that's why i'm driving OTR, i want to be able to afford the things i want in life and the adventures that i want to experience. the newest gopro already has easy hookup and transfers without a headache. not to mention the fisheye lenses on them capture everything. i just need to get to orientation and get through training. tired of this waiting game and red tape. i'm ready to start making myself and Schaffer some money. they already do dash cams facing out in their trucks from what i was told last week so the gopro will just be my own added security and fun. but from what i've seen and read on here, it will definitely be worth the investment.MidwestResident Thanks this.

Thanks & good luck to your new adventure. Schaffer is reefer I believe out of Crete so there probably are a lot of night runs. Hopefully the cam you choose will pickup well at night. Seriously good luck.MidwestResident and ghostdog Thank this.

i had the option of reefer or dry van and i knew from reading on here to ask about exactly what you just said. but i was told i would be dry van if that's what i requested and i did, and yes that's still with Schaffer apparently. Reefer just doesn't seam worth it for .01 cent extra a mile and all the headaches involved. I read enough from freightwhippers stories and advice to know that much. lolMidwestResident and EndHatred Thank this.

I just wish they would call and confirm orientation. I need to get started, paperwork is in review with safety because my old company downsized to local and dropped their DOT cert. this year. which is also part of why i'm leaving. I'm strong, intelligent, willing, and eager. I'm a safe, and aware driver, and red tape and the sheer number of people applying is keeping me sitting stagnant, i really wish i could get his new era of my life underway.
MidwestResident Thanks this. -
When You call & ask do they give you a condescending reply "we'll call you when we know, Okaaaaaay?
When receptionists do that to me I say yes then call back n the next day again & again till they understand I need an answer. Good luck.MidwestResident Thanks this. -
Not at all, Collene, and Carley have been super nice and helpful, even Craig their supervisor looked into it to try to speed things up and has been very helpful. Patience and affording to be patient are the real problems here. they are very helpful and seam to be trying. that's why i keep referencing red tape. apparently "safety" has my file and we are all waiting for them to get to my name in a pile with hundreds of others.
MidwestResident and EndHatred Thank this.
