I just started at McElroy truck lines in Cuba, AL. I like it, pays .46/mile and home every weekend guaranteed. I took this job because of the pay and the work, not to be home every weekend.

I am a rookie driver and i found a small local company that was willing to take me on, local home everynight and payed hourly, definitely gonna stick around for a few years
Ken Worth Thanks this. -
That's how I got my start, small local company. I was working commission though, was making $600 a week at first, after 3 months, I was consistently making $800 / wk and after 6 months I was regularly making a grand a week.
I like working local because you get to be in your own bed most nights of the week, also your costs are lower because your not dependent on high priced truck stops. More importantly, if your married, you get to eat home cooked meals. -
Just curious where u applied to

Everywhere man starting to get a little frustrated. I start school on Monday and because I have two wrecks in the last 3 years a lot of places are turning me down.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
Not saying it can't be done but you're going to have an uphill battle with that record.Sneakerfix Thanks this.

What kind of wrecks? In a car I assume? Why are you applying before you even start school? There are companies begging for drivers.....I wouldn't get too shook up just yet.
