Nice compact radio there I was looking at the foundation licence some of the test questions as it permits you to run 10 watts but I'm sure if you are mobile you cloud have a little more fire in the wire

Mad Dog as a General you can not talk on all of any HF band. But as an Extra I can. A Technician gets about 10% of the airwaves, a General about 90%, Advanced about 95%, a Extra 100% of all bands. Look at chart.

Of course i was not licensed in 1913 ... but when I was I had privileges on all bands ... not all frequencies but bands ...

Like Big_m I myself am also a VE with three clubs in the Dallas Texas metropolitan area. You can also contact me direct if you have any further questions leading up to your first test session.
Good luck,

No ham rigs have receiver sensitivity as nice as my magnum s9 @-125db so buying an Icom 7000 would be a downgrade on my part.
