Not at all, Collene and Carley have been very helpful and are extremely nice. Even their supervisor Craig, has went out of his way to try to help the situation as much as possible. hence my repeated reference to red tape, it's all up to "safety" now. Just waiting on them to sift through hundreds of applicants and get to little old me. one day man, I'll be behind the seat adding miles to the hub and wishing i could get out and stretch for a minute. right now, i just really want to get behind that big ### steering wheel and doing the job i always dreamed of and never thought I'd get to do. I'm so close man, so very very close.....
Do you have a dash cam?

didnt show it posted so i retyped it and then there were two... oh well. lol
MidwestResident and EndHatred Thank this. -
I considered Gopro but decided against it because I wanted two exterior rear facing and a forward facing for a total of three cameras that could all be played back simultaneously in court if necessary. Also, to get 3 cameras, I`d need to buy three GoPros. The Uniden system that I posted earlier will take up to 4 cameras and has it`s own computer and display. 4 cameras on one display
MidwestResident, EndHatred and ghostdog Thank this. -
I wouldn't want a camera that will show more than what I can see. A jury can't see what you saw, but they CAN see that car on the monitor that was seen by the camera and make the assumption that you SHOULD have seen it (because it's RIGHT THERE!). That's why I don't have a dash cam mounted high in the windshield. It is why I don't want cameras focused on my blind spots. If I can see it, I don't mind it being caught on tape. I just don't need a camera recording a view I just didn't have access to from my position behind the wheel.
MidwestResident, EndHatred, tinytim and 1 other person Thank this. -
i like your thinking. but can those cameras be live viewed and use a forth with night vision etc as backup cameras? i'd love an all purpose system.MidwestResident and EndHatred Thank this. -
Just for the record, Shaffer is the reefer division of Crete. Different dispatchers and load planners (unless it's night time or weekends). But if it makes you feel any better, it'll still say both Crete and Shaffer on the side of your truck and as a Crete driver you'll occasionally find yourself running a reefer load on a Shaffer trailer.
Not all of Crete's trucks have company installed cameras. Only 100 of our trucks have the camera according to the memo the safety VP sent out last year. So getting your own camera is probably a good call. I run a Garmin 20 and it's saved my hide from a few "hard braking events" that safety tried to ding me for. Well worth the money.EndHatred Thanks this. -
"hard breaking events"? so are you saying you didn't hit anyone? and if you did, the camera proved you were not at fault? if so that's awesome.
How long have you been with them? was the hiring process this much of a pain and so drug out for you as well?MidwestResident and EndHatred Thank this. -
Yes. Search Uniden UDR444 home security system. The mounting system is crap I had to improve it. Follow the link in post 46 of this thread to see the video of my wreck. The rear facing videos were from the Uniden.MidwestResident and EndHatred Thank this.
