I can do this but I choose not to. I'm from D/FW. Riding the right is suicide.

There must not be any lane laws in PHX. I see trucks in the 3rd lane (hammer lane) many times every day. I see trucks in the HOV lane at least once a day. At least with trucks it's the speed demons in the left lane. The four wheeler texting in the hammer lane - miles of traffic behind and open space in front... that guy deserves a tapeworm.

I have no idea of what's considered "proper", but what some here say about middle lane being safest makes sense to me. The first lane with all the braking and merging seems unnecessarily risky.

Well for your info I get paid by the hour so I do not have to run hard to get paid that quote is a joke taking from trucker ABE. And I stretch my legs on the open interstate as my truck is not governed under 70 unlike some other drivers out there who fell it is necessary to run there 63mph truck wide open in a 55mph zone, I just stay out of peoples way as I do all posted speed limits in construction zones and urban areas and I have no problems. I even have a few four wheelers wave at me from time to time thanking me for letting them in. Being courteous has its advantages. Running the right lane is not that difficult. Some are holders some are drivers!!!!

There are lots of the HOTSHOTS that think tailgating, blocking traffic and being a general pain is the way to drive.

I guarentee you I can run thru LA traffic, leaving a large following distance, be polite, and get thru the traffic without splilling my coffee first. And yes 90 percent of he time I run in the right lane in traffic.

By the way how you handle traffic will also show up in your fuel consumption, and maintenance cost. Doors closed and keep it rolling.

I drive in the middle lane because it is safer than trying to change lanes for ppl exiting the fwy or entering from the on ramp. Slow vehicles tend to be in the right lane as well. My truck is governed at 60mph so i get lots of mean looks & horns blowing. Less slow downs save time & fuel. Less lane changes reduces accidents. Before i drove a truck i hated them in the middle but it all makes sense now. The trucking industry has grown enormously over the last decade & trucks arent going away for awhile so we have to work with each other.

Most people on the roads today have forgotten that oncoming traffic merging onto the hwy or interstates have to yield to the oncoming traffic !

To answer the OP's question, if you want trucks out of the middle lane, start ticketing four wheelers for improper merging.

    Next question?

How about people.........actually......do the speed limit????

what a brilliant concept.....maybe merging on the highway wouldn't be so stressful......
