    Neither have I.

I suspect that it was a "reminder" to the drivers in the Jcp dedicated runs that pretrips edited in after you move show differently. It doesn't show on the QC though, only in the dot report you can pull of an officer asks for your logs.

The part about it flagging you as moving or your day beginning after 125ft is bull.

Alright, so my dbl was only slightly misinformed.

    Here's the actual update:

When your truck moves period, regulatory can see it. Moves less than 50 feet may be detected. It will not show on your QC and your time will not start until after 1 mile as usual.

Your dbl, or anyone with similar permissions can view that report. (Potentially including the dot.)

Right now it seems, and I'll admit this part is speculation, that regulatory is thinking of making it so when your brakes are pushed in, your clock begins. Guessing they want to see how many drivers abuse the system...

So if I ran outta hours in the dock, and I move within their property to their end lot to stay overnight, I'm automatically dot violation?

    Vilhiem Thanks this.

On your Qc, no. At least not right now. I was thinking the same ting when I heard it though.

Far as I know this Is mostly to get after those that don't log a pretrip before setting out. Not sure how it'd work if they were going to make it even more strict like I speculated.

That's not a DOT violation. Hours of service DO NOT APPLY on private property.

Also DOT says anything under 7.5 minutes DOES NOT HAVE TO BE LOGGED.

SNI is the one being so critical and picky so they can cover their axx.

    That's it no other reason.

There was a driver a couple years ago who ran out of hours backed up to a dock. They told the driver to move off the docks as they had other trucks to unload. Driver called 1-800 FMCSA or whatever and spoke to some suit who told driver not to move truck under any circumstance until the driver had proper hours of service to do so.

Same thing a DOT officer will say so if you do move it covers their ###.

Hours of service regulations only apply on public roads or anytime you're being compensated for duties related to the operation of a commercial vehicle Such as fueling pre trip post trip and hand unloading.

I swear drivers today put to much reliance on what a company tells them. Is it not a requirement to test on the fmsca book to get a CDL anymore.

    I honestly don't get it...

Schneider is essentially becoming a company we all love to hate. Except they look good doing it to anyone who is willing to give more than your average driver.

While that could be a good thing, in all likelihood it means they'll just have more puppets. Puppets don't make good drivers... Driving requires skill and logic outside the books and company statements. Puppets know little more than the book tells them.

I think many of us would agree that if we went by the book 100% of the time, there would've been a completely different and not nearly as good outcome.
