1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

As I had already said in the post about Werner, I am a student at NTTS in Liverpool NY. I'm trying to find a good OTR company were I can expect to run a decent amount of miles and a good starting pay. I do relize that because i will be fresh out of school in October, I'm not going to start out at a high CPM. So based on everyone's experense out there on this forum, hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. Just a little bit about me and what i am looking for. I am 21 with no background at this at all, can pass both a DOT phyiscal and drug screen, don't drink and a clean MVR. I also have my hazmat, tanker and double/triple endorsements. I am looking to find something were it is 85%+ no-touch frieght, no slip seating or teams, 2500+ miles a week, atleast .32cpm and get to run all 48 states. Thank you all that read this and reply.

i am not aware of any starter co. that pays/starts it's entry level drivers out/above / .30 cpm

also your location could present a obstacle to any prospective co.'s

being in ny get used to driving in jersey. your prime for it. when you head out to start each time out and when you come back in you'll be in jersey. there is some serious freight coming out of york right now so you'll be ok on that. and don't settle for 32 cpm. thats chump change and new drivers can make more than that. keep looking around and making phone calls.

Yeah - then you gotta ask yourself - why are they willing to pay a newbie so much?

Don't get me wrong, it could be for excellent reasons - maybe their standards are astronomical. On the other side of the coin, maybe they treat their drivers so bad they HAVE to pay well to keep them.

Talk to drivers and find out . (My bet is on the former, by the way)

i tend to agree with ya somewhat. some of the better co's dont have the turnover rate and therefore don't put a lot into advertising positions.

Thank you all for all the reply's. But what comp;nays would you all recommend? And yes i have been looking for the last several weeks, but I keep running into the same problem each time. the problems I seem to keep getting are my age and no experience.

KLLM starts the new drivers out at .34 cpm, and they run all 48 states. They also offer tuition reimbursement. They have been a great starter company for my boyfriend.
