For one's protection, it is best to have a decent dashboard cam. If you are not at fault in a particular situation, that dashboard cam can be an absolute lifesaver.
God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!
Do you have a dash cam?

Until now I did not get any benefits of my cameras. I uploaded a few videos on youtube. There You can see the good or bad quallity. The oldest videos I made with a "veho VCC-005-MUVI-HD10"
From them the lifetime was not so long.
The younger videos I made with a "Drift xxxx"
the "Drift xxxx" does not have a GPS or some thing like this. I made a few holders for them my self. I will upload a few pictures about the holders later.
I think I payed about 100$ for each camera. They record about 6 or 7 h on a 32 GB card. The quallity in the night could be a little bit better. But for about 100$, there , I want not to complain.
To see the quallity, You can check it out at
Have fun

I opened up the video wider to youtube which helped me to view it better & see the words typed on it. Except for the fading of the fast passing vehicles which seemed to blend into each other at the beginning & end of the film I thought the quality was good.
You sure do have a nice quiet truck, gears glide smoothly too; is that a new prostar? When the camera is running can you turn the sound off or on yourself? I have a habit of singing from time to time & don't want to be recorded. Thanks. -
Who knows you might end up on America's got Talent,...... you probably won't, but somebody has to fill the time.
Be better if you sang and tap danced. haEndHatred Thanks this. -
I doubt it too, but I can dream can't I?

How about this for a never before seen act?

I am very sure, it was a volvo. The At the begining and at the end I edited a little bit to shorten the things which are not so interesting.
Standardly I record every thing. The video and the audio. I think after 6 or 7 h, when the memory is full, I change the SD card. The camera ha a remote controll which I have on the key chain.
Each file is about 4 GB. When any thing is interesting, I interupt the recording for a few seconds.
Then at the end of the shift, I have on file which is shorter like 4 GB, then it is easier to fiend.
I am not sure about the sound. I think it records the sound allways. I could edit it out. I have a video editing program also on the laptop.

This is the holder which I made self. It is easy splittable in 2 parts. I made a few more from these little squares on the windshield, just in case I get an other truck.

Ok that explains it, Not having one yet or knowing how to edit I didn't know the fade /transition could happen.
As for sound, if say a policeman were to confiscate the video I'ld gather then all sound would still be there unless edited. Good to know, thanks -
I have a go pro hero2 but it doesn't loop video. Great camera though. I have a cheap dash cam off of amazon that is my insurance policy. It works but video quality is not great. I was checking out new apps to put in an old iPhone I just use as a gps now and came across two I like. OsmAnd DVR and CarCamera are the ones I like the best. Anyone use these?
