    Just curious if there was anyone still running COE's OTR, if so are you still making money?

    I'm a ways off yet from being an o/o but it is a goal, I'm short stature, so the dog house isn't a problem, however, is it just too far fetched to run OTR and still be successful?

    But success bearings for cabovers ARE getting hard to come by...........better find some new old stock ones and carry 'em with you!!

    Seriously.........if you are mechanically inclined, like older trucks, and have no issues with the incumbent discomforts of a cabover.......go for it! They ran coast to coast for years.......

    See quite a few running pneumatic, flat, hopper, livestock.... alot of people are doing it. Gotta love that 'ol school cool.

    Incorrect wording, I apologize Oscar the KW.


    The two I'm looking at presently are both 13 speed one has the 3406E ( heard lots of pros and con's) and the other has the 400 BCC.

    Ive heard reefer loads are doing well. That's the direction I'm pointed in.

    I see them from time to time. I'm guessing just like any other truck like others stated its still a truck. As far as success goes like Oscar said the truck isn't the determining factor for success.

    Any reason in particular your considering one. I know for awhile there they were dirt cheap but now it seems like the appreciation for them is coming back and are a little pricier for a nice one. I ran them in my earlier days and never minded them. Great for tight spots. A bit easier to just tilt the hood and do your thing on a conventional when it comes to service time though.

    Turning radius and lighter weight. It'll sound silly but I'm partial to quasi confined space. Don't care to have the whole kitchen sink with me, so the arrangements are fitting.

    The biggest worry most people have voiced is first on the scene of an accident. I don't drive like a jerk, but cannot account for others. So that's something I'm taking into account.

    If I already owned one I wouldn't be in a rush to sell but I wouldn't run out and buy a mechanical truck right now either. I would go for the one with the electric motor. I've always liked the looks of cabovers but they were god awful uncomfortable when I drove them in school but I'm relatively tall so you may have better luck.

    I seen one on 490 in rochester ny all tricked out with a color matched trailer. It was pretty sweet
