Suggest to the powers that be , they might want to hire competent office staff who build and post those loads.

 

I've seen that happen. Once it was around 600 mi for about $2000, just shy of it actually. Was about to book it when it disappeared only to come back at just over $1100.

I'd be happy if they just hire more people, anybody even monkeys and lions to answer the phones just so I don't have to sit on hold 20+ minutes every time I call in.
I now have to trip plan for my 3 way calls because the last few times it took around 30 freaking minutes before all that was done and over with.

 

Makes you wonder if whoever posted it saw it and said "hey $1100 is still a good rate for 600 miles so let's take a bigger cut"

Ask to see the (I believe its called) rate sheet, by law they're supposed to provide it. Justa boogereatinmoron here though, so I could be wrong, it happens occasionally

 

I'd like to ask for a rate sheet on the negative paying loads

 

Schneider logistics covers SNI by providing a rate sheet to match the load as its offered to us.

Lots of wiggle room.

 

And that's truly why I believe the contractor does not see see 65% of what the customer is paying to have the load moved. Schneider Logistics sells the load to Schneider National who then pass it on to the contractor at 65%... double brokering, if that is the right term. Had an instance with another driver who I kept in touch while while he was on Choice, there was a screwup somewhere along the chain of command and he ended up getting screenshots emailed to him for whatever reason from customer service as they worked to resolve the problem, and they left the rates on there. He shared that with me and it was very interesting. Lets just say that what that load ACTUALLY paid was NOT what he was getting paid. We tried all kinds of ways to figure out how to figure out how the number got down to what it was from where it started, but no matter how we tried to figure that 65% and 100% FSC in, it wouldn't work.

It's not my place to post those screenshots as they were not intended for me, so whether you want to believe it or not is totally up to you.

Ya'll realize when you see those cheap-*** loads come up on the board for us... do you REALLY think SNI is hauling freight for that cheap with their company trucks? **** no. No company in their right mind would haul 47,000lbs of Nestle Water for 0.90 a mile. But the desperate contractor who gets sucked into an area by taking a high dollar load in might. If the driver plays his cards right, it can be avoided, but lets be honest, not everyone does, and SNI frickin' LOVES it when that happens.

Yes just imagine what the rates could be if we took out all the middle men and women.

Rates should be around 30% higher for us as contractors to truly be in the range of profit we need to be to sustain and grow.

I do believe SNI will grow the IC side to be larger than company.

With the profits they make off IC and the costs on the IC they'd be crazy not to.
