International Trucking School (Lansing MI)

Sorry for the long wait been really busy between class and work been swamped.

From where I left off week 2-4 were pretty much all in truck days. First day out we just did laps all day learning to shift. Day two in the truck half the day was shifting then we start to learn our backing maneuvers; Straight line, Off Set, and 90 degree ally dock. Now seeing as our truck need some tires we couldn't go out on the road the first week so we got backing skills and shifting pretty much engraved into our brains for our state test which was a great thing.
Monday of the 3rd week we got our tires and were finally able to get some road time, most everyday other than the day before our state test all four of us got to drive in the morning then worked on the pad after lunch, some days we did more of one than the other, and that was pretty much it up till our test.

As for my state test I passed, along with the other 3 guys that were in our truck, and all four of us did our backing skills with 0/12! Our instructor was pretty epic on teaching us the basics of driving, and at making us nervous so we don't mess up when it was time to test. Not to mention getting us into a jam on our backing skills so we could learn to get out of it.

Overall I had a great experience here at ITS and would recommend others to go as well if you need your CDL.

As for my first company I've decided that I'm going down to Tulsa, OK for flatbed and Melton Truck Lines, my orientation starts on the 17th.
