I think they run day cabs, back busters.
-
Most LTL's do. Even for line haul.
-
The day cab design is not why they ride so rough, the short wheelbase is the reason.
Drive an axle forward stretched frame day cab & they ride just as good as any sleeper truck -
Not to mention, the suspension. I drove an old KW that was a spring axle day cab.
Talk about a rough ride. The clutch on that thing was stiffer than any other clutch I've ever known, too. Making the day a real JOY. . .NOT.
MACK E-6 and HeWhoMustNotBeNamed Thank this. -
I heard R&L invested in some fancy seats for their day cabs. I guess upgraded. Read it somewhere if someone can confirm it or not. Just wondering.

My truck is all spring and I have no problem. Your butt must just be too sensitive.

Probably from all those arse chewings I took from ex-wives. . .
Gearjammin' Penguin Thanks this. -
Most terminals have a rack that you lock your jack to. And they let you do payroll deduction for a brand new Wesco jack at like $5 dollars a week. Then if you quit, they buy your jack back at a percentage.
