I just talked to Dan, he said that that it is a utility route with Ford. 40% local, 60% regional and I might have to go OTR. It will be mostly Mon night through Fri night. I also might have to fill in with a team when one person takes vacation. Also, I would need Hazmat and doubles endorsement .
I don't know who you talked to, but that gig sounds much better than this one... -
Griff....Get your foot in the door and if it isn't what you thought than start looking at other options. There's also a Home Depot dedicated out of Topeka that would have you home 2 days a week. The FoMoCo account has not been a good account for drivers. Driving across Wyoming to Utah with doubles is no fun. Ask Dan about the Aurora Auto Parts gig....also ask about Inter-Model in Denver. They may want you to have three months experience before transferring to one of those positions.
Griffinator Thanks this. -
Thanks, ill do that. I'll call Dan back soon.

Well boys, back at it again.
193 miles today. BT 11 miles to Auburn to P/U MT. Returned the 11 miles and P/U a D/H in Sumner. Load is going 989 miles to Shafter CA. Good way to start back in the saddle again.
Had to stop at the Portland OC for my Annual training. What fun. Took about an hour to complete.
Hold everything..... Assignment changed. Relay the load at the OC.
New assignment is to go on a MT hunt again since none are at the OC. Drive 13 miles to the other side of Portland and P/U my MT. Head 185 miles to Hermiston with my MT for a D/H and than return the 185 miles with a load of pallets to Portland.
Next pre assignment is to head 181 miles to Grandview WA to P/U an MT and than head 55 miles to Hermiston for a D/H and bring the load 185 miles back to Portland for a D/H.
The difference is the Shafter trip is about 70 miles longer tha bouncing back and forth between Portland-Hermiston-Grandview.
What is with drivers putting their locks on trailers and going home. WTF. 2 trailers in Sumner and 3 in Portland were like this. If I had any bolt cutters, those drivers would come back and only find their locks on the ground. -
We will be in Hermiston (Wal-Mart) around 10 tomorrow morning
-
I was in Hermiston around 09:30. Crap....sorry I missed you warhippy.
569 miles today with my Portland to Hermiston to Portland to Hermiston to Portland run. I stop in Stansfield OR for the night. I will head back to Portland in the AM.
They wanted my to drive to Grandview WA to P/U an MT. The place I am dropping all these pallets on these runs has about 20 newer MT trailers sitting there, so I just grabbed one of those and saved myself about 50 miles and a hour drive time and headed straight to Hermiston, otherwise I would have been late for my appointment since I had less than an hour on my 11 when I got to Hermiston. The appointment was for today.
New pre assignment is Portland to Hermiston to Portland. All D/H's.
Will finish on Friday with a little over 1300 miles on this round robin runs. -
510 miles today. I have I-84 down pat between Herminston and Portland now. All these loads of pallets have been less than 22K. Nice MPG. I did lose 1/2 gallon MPG today due to the head wind between Arlington and Hood River. 2-3 ft swells on the Columbia River.
No pre assignment for tomorrow yet. -
550 miles today. Delivered my load in Portland.
New pre assignment is a 180 miles D/H in Moxee WA. You guessed it. A load of pallets going to the same company I have been going to all week. They are running out of room in their lot. I will post some pictures tomorrow. Made it back to the OC to spend the night. Tomorrow will drive the last 12 miles for my D/H.
On Sunday, I gave a D/H load planned 80 miles away in Lebanon OR going 225 miles to Puyallup WA.
1735 miles since Tuesday. Not bad at all. One day only 193 miles. Hope this keeps up.Landog Thanks this. -
I noticed all the trailers (Empties) when I was in Hermiston that were actually full of pallets. I mentioned it to my DBL because I know if we don't get a handle on the empties it's would only get worse. Nice to see you can get some nice light loads.
Came out from TAH on Tuesday afternoon. Load from Denver to Oregon...Oregon to Sumner to Greencastle, Indiana....Greencastle to Elmhurst, Ill (Chicago)...Elmhurst to Santa Fe Springs, CA. Nice 5850 mile week by Sunday morning. Not bad coming from the housedrvrtech77 Thanks this.
