Doing the same here, work for Roehl as a local driver and have a new job lined up that will pay overtime. Hate the way this comp will not pay OT.

I don't understand why drivers don't file a lawsuit in cases like these @Ive2drv stated in 2008 they don't pay OT. That's a lot of drivers over the years, it's law the cannot not pay. I work in the oil fields and there a signs everywhere for attorneys specialize in this type of business.

Seems unamerican to not go after your money, if you were an O/O and had a nonpaying customer you would be all over them like stink on ####.

But I dirges, I'm looking for something as well but even on bad months I've done well so far this year hauling crude, just not confident in the future outlook. I will have to look at fuel as an option.

I left LTL for fuel...I left fuel because the nice 1100 dollar a week check represented 12 hour shifts (I live hour away from terminal) broke down by the hour, put me at $16.66 an hour..3 bucks less an hour, still no life, doh!!!
    This at KAG
Now back local, dumptruck/backhoe, 19 hr, OT after 40, workin from 5 am to 1 or 2 everyday..life!!! wierd!!!
Looking at LTL and fuel again, can anyone recommend a therapist?

What's sad is these companies trying every which way to treat the very people that make the company, the drivers like s###. They will either cut out O.T. Or pay a low wages with O.T. some even go as far as paying by the load even in fuel hauling lol.

Yeah the OT thing gets me, here there are plenty of attorneys willing to fight for your OT. I'm paid a mileage and load fee hauling crude and may drives are paid % but the money is good and the faster we're done the sooner we go home.

I had looked into fuel before but the % pay didn't add up, I had a friend hauling fuel for 18+ an hour but wasn't getting an hours so he went back to crude.

I was a construction super. in a former life and as much as don't want to leave my current employer this is by far the best company I've ever worked, however I'm trying to look down the road not comfortable with the oil outlook.

As far as companies treat employees it's a 2 way street I have only been driving a little over 2 years and at my first job I was around some real losers. I'm not sure how they received a CDL so I believe this contributes to the employer attitude toward drivers, we'll just find another.

This is why, your elected reps. did this most likely before you were born

Section 13(b)(1) of the FLSA provides an overtime exemption for employees who are within the authority of the Secretary of Transportation to establish qualifications and maximum hours of service pursuant to Section 204 of the Motor Carrier Act of 1935, except those employees covered by the small vehicle exception described below.
