drivers dont list their experience on the new format but op did mention the career
i read on here that the def system wont work if you idle.
after the company took the skirts off my assigned mack and took the whole thing apart and cleaned the filter i quit idling and had no more problems
i only idled at stop lights and if i wanted to keep it running i used the fast idle with the cruise control but only when waiting for the line of trucks to move other wise i turned it off.
i dont sleep in the truck so thats not good for all.
i read on the poly thread about tons of pro star trouble
now im on a different route running a million mile mack with the eaton auto shift and no def system and got lot of experience with these so try and keep it clean and detailed and out of the shop

Funny thing. In my experience trying to "work" with people like you describe only leads to them ####ting on you even more.... you know like being assigned 6 crappy trucks. Ive been told time and time again that you don't want to make waves, but the problem is that these people in the offices wont do a ###### thing for you unless you make life miserable for them first. Its a crazy culture that trucking has, but its the truth. If you aren't making life hell for them than you aren't a big enough problem for them to fix and you will be ignored. I don't like it any more than you do but that's the truth.

I can agree with that to a point. The squeaky wheel does get the grease, so to speak.

Problem is, for that to be the case one has to have a bit of credibility, and I like to think one earns that by being good at one's job and taking pride in what he or she does. Otherwise, one runs the risk of being labeled the "defective part" that needs replacement.

That's a very fine line to walk, and I struggle with it myself.

yeah that is the way to do it and the old saying pick your battles surely applies in these instances. some things you just have to deal with and figure it out without bothering the cube farm. have the balls to make a decision and stand by it and not depend on others to make them for you whenever possible.

complain too much and about every little thing under the sun and/or the wrong way you're a problem.

complain at the right times and for the right things.....and most importantly in the right way......and things get done

don't complain at all and you get walked on like a doormat.

each company it changes and you have to be pretty astute at figuring which one to do in which case pretty quick.

but none of the above applies if you don't produce and establish yourself as a performer and someone who can be counted on to handle business.

and then sometimes the corporate culture and/or morons you have to deal with just make it unworkable no matter how reasonable you are or how above and beyond you go and you vote with your feet and find something better.

This is exactly the scenario I just got done dealing with. 90% success rate trainer (over 5 years) and for 3 months my miles were cut, Nothing I did could get them to change and get me rolling decently went from 3k miles / wk down to less than 2k miles/wk. Sorry but Im not staying out OTR and putting my life in the hands of a rookie and never being home, for the same as I could make in a daycab. Im just not going to do it so /finger, Im outta there.

I signed to crete not bc im a rookie but bc they started me at .45 cent a mile their benefits were great an they were running me 3k miles a week easy. Problem is there internationals broke down every two weeks. You drivers are failing to put yourself in my shoes for the 2 months. Im a very patient woman. And one thing i dont do is complain. I also have a high tolerance but how much am i supposed to take before quitting. When would yall quit? Imagine moving into a different truck every two weeks. 6 times. All your clothes. Trucking tools. Locks. Refrigerator. Microwave etc. When you should be driving. And the sad part about it that those "office people" dont give a #### weather your giving them a hard time or not bc their going home every night not you. So they could care less anyway. An remember im a female. An emotional one too. But man or woman i got so frustrated to the point where i cried to my fiance. If a company is upsetting you that much to where you cry then its time to go. After being told to drive the 6th piece of #### truck. Then to go over the road for ten days with a trainer. I through in the towel. Telling a experienced driver they need to go over the road with a trainer. That i probably drive way better than is crazy. Thats like sending a police officer back to the training academy. Thats like telling a phd doctor to go back to pre med. And this was all over there pathetic critical events. So if your taking those office people side i will not be reaponding to you. They blamed the issue on me over there trucks. Didnt take time to look a my track record or anything just assumed im out there making hard turns left an right setting off critical events. Bull ####. Try again.

I been sayin it for years, CRETE SUCKS, but the pay is good.
Hang in the bucaneer, you'll get a good truck, they'll still annoy the hell out of you. But, they are ANNOYING, But, imagine receiving my messages.
Over on the dispatch forum site, they have a WHOLE SECTION devoted to ME.
