What exactly does it say on your MVR for an accident without a citation?

If that is the case I would say it was the other drivers fault.

So if I am stopped at a red light and some idiot rear ends me it is reported on my MVR? What a load of ####.

I have two accidents on my MVR, both not my fault. One rear ended at red light, the other one a lady made a right turn from the left lane while I was in her blind spot. Both are noted that I was not at fault, the rear ended noted that there were injuries. I believe if a police report is filed it goes on your MVR.

I'd be very surprised if Illinois wasn't the same. Why would "hate to live in (my) state?" Other then It's Michigan. :) I would think insurance companies and the state would want complete records on every accident.

I've considered my MVR "clean" because I have no citations and 0 points, though I guess it my not be technically true. No company has batted an eye at my driving record.

Illinois is not the same. I have been in a couple of accidents not my fault. Not a word about it on my MVR.

    You're from Michigan? I type slower then.....

I would list the accident, especially if I were at fault. 1 accident shouldn't stop you, because 1 doesn't show a pattern...it shows you're human. 1 accident a year shows a pattern, but 1 accident shouldn't hurt you other than pride.

Should you let them know? Absolutely. "Yes, I screwed up once. Had an accident. I figured out what I did wrong, and I will not make that mistake again."

Maybe at a mega carriers, where quantity is more important than quality. But I'd much rather have someone who goofed up be able to recognize a goof than someone who has never goofed. Everyone is going to goof. Some people never figure out what they do wrong. Some do. Those that do will be able to recognize calamity in time to be able to avoid it.

And, the Man Law demands honesty. Goofing up is a part of being human. Lying about our goofs is a sign of weakness.

Yeah, I always thought to myself that mistakes happen and owned up to it so I talked to Wel Companies yesterday and they said they will take me. And i keep thinking someone could have a good MVR and still be a terrible driver
