What all of you are not realizing is that VOLVO's are known for dumping "ccv" crankcase ventilation gasses "fumes" into the driver's cab for one reason. This is a complete design flaw that Volvo refuses to address. Crankcase ventilation gasses are normal for ANY engine. Gas, Diesel, Propane, etc. They are a product of gasses "blowing by" the piston into the crankcase as the engine runs. PCV valves and EGR valves are used in an attempt to redirect these gasses back into the induction system and re-burn the spent exaust gasses. BUT, Volvo's have always put their cab fresh air intake vent right above the crankcase ventilation tube coming out of the oil pan. So at low speeds or when parked the fumes rise because they are warmer than the ambient air and they are then sucked into the cab fresh air vent, filling the cab with poisonous fumes and causing serious long-term poisoning of the occupants of the truck. This is a serious problem that has been addressed by me and other Owner/operator's by attaching an 8 foot section of PVC tubing to the blow by tube (crankcase vent tube) and running it along the bottom of the chassis to the rear of the cab toward the drive axles. I am surprised that drivers have not made a class action lawsuit against Volvo Industries for all the drivers that have been injured, poisoned, and died in the cabs and sleeper of these trucks due to this issue. It's just a matter of time until the right attorney group figures this out and gets a hold on this serious and ongoing problem. I've been a diesel mechanic for over 20 years and Volvo's are the only trucks that have this design flaw and refuse to do anything about it. They know about it, but it would cost them millions of dollars to change their design, so they just sweep it under rug so to speak.

Three wks ago I had to be taken to the hospital, while driving starting to get chest pain, headaces, lightheaded, when checked by ambulance blood pressure was at 200, still cant figure out the paramedic asked to have my truck sniffed out, the other party wouldn't,do it.I suspected exhaust coming into airvents inside cab of truck.they put me on oxegen for over 2 hrs, about 3 or more hrs later, the dr.ordered blood work for co poisioning, the number was higher than normal. Question what would the number be if they would of done the blood work for co then,This is three times with this company I have experienced exhaust issues coming into the cab, 3 trucks. The company doesn't want to take responceblity for this, they are using every excuse in the book, not to take blame.Still out of work on leave(med) You hear about drivers found dead in there truck, unexplainable accidents,Could this be a possible reason!!!!!!! Go to WWW.truckmonoxide.com.
