I start orientation on the 1st in Fontana. Excited to get on the road. I drove trucks in the military but nothing strictly OTR. I would like to be out at least 4 weeks at a time before i take my home time. Lets Run!

TennMan, mhyn and Straight Stacks Thank this.

Congrat's and thank you for your service. Can I asked with all due respect, what trucking mill did you choose ? If you use the search button on here and search the trucking mill's and read them, you will understand why I asked. Goodluck

With this guy being ex-military, he is much better equipped to handle the training and first year of a mega carrier than guys like me who came from a white collar back round. I made it, I am sure he will.

    TennMan and Congrats84 Thank this.

I didn't mean any sarcasm here. The point I was trying to make was , with his military background he could find a better route to go then going through the mill's(mega carrier).

    Congrats84 Thanks this.

@Diesel Dave I went Schneider because it was good choice for my life right now. I drove for 9 yrs in the service but most companies don't count that as experience. At Schneider they counted that and plus i get a monthly payment with my GI Bill using their apprenticeship program.

OK, hope I did not sound contentious towards you. If it did seem that way, it was not intended.

    Diesel Dave Thanks this.

I worked for Schneider for a year over a decade ago. I have nothing but contempt for them, but on the good side, I got my training and stuck it out a year to get it paid for. I expect that they will not treat you well. Get a year with no preventables, and some MUCH better opportunities will open up for you.
