san diego trucking school ..bad very bad, need advice

    my brother is trying to get his CDL at San Diego Trucking school located in Otay Mesa, CA
    the teacher there is so bad ..that he doesn't show the student how to do PTI ,and he doesn't show them where all the engine compartments are located at ...he tell them to memorize the PTI steps without showing how to perform it in details, as well as no mapping directions, and NO log book teaching
    my question is ...is this legal? can the teacher do this ??
    he only show them how to back up and drive on the road ...thats it !!!!!!!!!
    please help

    I don't know if it's legal or not. Engines are different, so showing parts may not help.

    Youtube. Search Apex pre-trip. Helped me a lot. Also, things have changed. JUST STUDY CHAPTER 11 in the new book.

    the thing is ..they are only using one tractor ..and the engine is under the cab type of truck ...very old model,ot sure how the student gonna perform PTI when testing !!!!

    There are no legal truck driving schools located in the city. Your brother should look into United Truck Driving School or Western Truck School. Both located in San Diego area and both are approved institutions by the State of California.

    Yeah, during the PTI test your supposed to point at everything but if you rattle things off really fast the tester will be too busy checking off the boxes on the test to notice.

    Sadly, all you need to do is memorize the pti like the back of your hand.
