Dead header into town this morning after that canceled load. When I got to town I settled up with new parking spot people. Nice spot on the south side of a huge warehouse. Shade and whole lot is concrete and asphalt. Should be easy to work on the truck with a creeper now.

After I got my new spot I dropped the trailer and bobtailed over to fleet pride for 6 new Monroe shocks and 4 new continental air bags. $750. Not bad, about half the price than the truck stop was charging. And they had a Landstar discount and tax exempting all setup. Nice.

Had some new parts takeover my bed. Haha

Headed over to my buddies shop. He runs a muffler shop for cars, but that didn't stop me. Lol. Didn't fit.

I needed an extra hand and his tools. He's got a full snap on setup.

He zipped the shocks on for me. I did the air bags. Had to replace one air line. Went together pretty smooth. I just blocked the axles with wood and dumped the suspension. Easy peasy. Hardest part was the air lines. But just tedious really.

What I thought was an exhaust leak was a drain hole, so the build up of soot and rain made a mess and had me worried.

I paid my buddies shop $220, and parts were $750. I figure a saved about a grand getting parts from fleet pride and wrenching mostly myself.

    Don't know.

Well. I want to install the thru the wall ac at the top of the back of the sleeper. Cold air sinks right? When I'm sleeping in the top bunk it will be blowing right on me. And the table and bench should be cool with the falling cool air.

If I don't like it I'll slap a window in the top and reconfigure the setup.

When I make the benches and table I'm going to try and make it close to the way Volvo does it, so I can still setup a bottom bunk. Table folds down and seat and back cushions lay flat.

    Me? Already in Iowa...

I was feeling pretty good about how I've been doing lately until listening to those 2 heavy haul guys who were at big rig getting new APUs. If I believe them, their escorts earn more than I do...

Nice job! I've got an iffy bag and have been thinking about doing all 4 so this will come in handy -- what was hard about the air line?

It was easy, just dirty and greasy rolling around the ground. I ran up the street and bought $8 in extra line and fittings and only used a few pieces to complete. Really easy job.

Guys make it more difficult than it is by jacking it all up. Just block some wood in there. Dump the bags. And it's two bolts per bag and 8 air line fittings. Super simple.

I bought a really old used cobra 29 from someone at the Petro in Kingdom City, MO. It's been a real good radio.
